Success at Fraxion
It’s less than 48 hours since our first official press release went out to the world courtesy of PR Web and the response has been terrific with thousands of people having their first look at our easy micropayments system. Some have taken the brave step of downloading the plugin and having a play with it, some even registering their blogs.
This can only be a good thing, especially for all those journalists who have been let go by the media over the last few years. More than 31,000 journalists have lost their jobs over the last three years in the US alone and this trend does not seem like it will reverse anytime soon.
With our simple plugin all those unemployed journalists can get back to work just as soon as they get a hosted WordPress site. And this time they won’t be working for the man but for themselves.
Of course there is going to be a path of education and getting used to this system, especially with the debate of “paid content vs free” so hot at the moment. But we totally feel that in time we will be vindicated, that the “free” brigade will realise it is very draining producing wonderful stuff to either not be paid what it is worth, or for the main stream media to take what you lovingly produced, and still not pay you for it.
(Note: See. I didn’t lock this article because I felt it is a nice article that really shouldn’t be locked. Why? Because I spent ten mins writing it. If I had spent three days with hours of research, wouldn’t be fair to lock it and ask for, say, 1c? What about 2c? Any higher bids?)
