The argument about micropayments has been going on for years. Some say they will never pay for something that is free. Others say they would pay for high-value content. Yet this is missing the point. What has a huge bearing on this question is that of price and convenience. .....

    I imagine there would have to be strategies such as some free content, some cheaper, some more expensive. That way new readers that come by can see the quality of what you produce, test the water with the cheaper content and then view the more expensive content when they are comfortable that it will be worthwhile.

    If the first purchase doesn’t live up to purchaser expectations I think they would leave and not come back. After the first purchase and a bit of a track record I bet readers will become more forgiving of the odd less satisfying piece.
